Parker Dam

Though 320 feet tall, only 90 feet of Parker Dam (shown) are visible from the Colorado River bed. The dam straddles the border between California and Arizona and creates Lake Havasu. Half of the electricity generated by the dam's turbines is used to pump water to southern California municipalities.
